We are observers of the natural and the artificial. Over time, we have witnessed the slow disappearance of knowledge rooted in making. Morocco remains one of the few places in the world where a living “savoir-faire” continues to define everyday life, where objects are made with patience rather than speed, and where handmade objects remain accessible to ordinary people as part of their routines rather than becoming rare luxuries.

Barbaria was born from the desire to document, preserve, and carry this living heritage forward through the objects we discover, the pieces we develop, and the master artisans with whom we work.

This knowledge is far more than craft. It is a way of seeing, making, repairing, and living that gives meaning to everyday objects and affirms the beauty of individuality over mechanical perfection.

Such knowledge deserves continuity rather than nostalgia. We hope to be part of its continued evolution through practice, experience, and time, remaining relevant for generations to come.
